How to Create a Google Review QR Code (and Get More Reviews)

By Kavuthamraj · Updated

Most happy customers never leave a review, because finding your listing takes effort. A Google review QR code removes that effort: they scan it and land on your review form. You can make one free in a minute. This guide covers finding your link, making the code, and asking in a way Google allows.

How do you make a Google review QR code? (quick answer)

  1. Find your Google review link in your Google Business Profile.
  2. Open a free QR code generator and choose Google Review.
  3. Paste the link, and add your business name and logo if you like.
  4. Choose static or dynamic.
  5. Download it, test it with your phone, and put it where customers will see it.

Step 1: Find your Google review link

Sign in to the Google account that manages your business, search for your business name on Google, and open the option to get more reviews or share your review form. It gives you a short link that looks like https://g.page/r/…/review. Copy it. The wording of the buttons changes from time to time, but the review link is always there in your profile.

Open the link yourself first. It should take you straight to a box where you can write a review of your own business.

Step 2: Create the code

  • Google Review URL: paste the link you copied.
  • Business name (optional): shown on the page a scanner sees.
  • Brand logo (optional): add your logo so the code is recognisably yours.

Use a dynamic code if you will print it. If your review link ever changes, you can update where the printed code points, and you can see how many people scanned. A static code works too, but is fixed once printed.

Where to put it

  • At the till or counter, at the moment of a good experience.
  • On receipts and invoices.
  • On table cards and menus.
  • On packaging and delivery bags.
  • On a thank-you card in an order.

Add a few words next to it: "Enjoyed your visit? Scan to review us on Google." An unexplained square gets ignored.

Ask the right way: Google’s rules

Asking for reviews is allowed. Two things can get reviews removed or your profile into trouble:

  • Do not offer rewards for reviews. Discounts, freebies or entries into a draw in exchange for a review go against Google’s policies.
  • Do not only ask happy customers. Filtering who you ask, so that only satisfied people are sent to Google, is called review gating and is also against the policies. Ask everyone.

Check Google’s current review policy before launching a campaign, as the rules are updated.

Google review QR code: frequently asked questions

Is a Google review QR code free?

Yes. Creating, styling and downloading one with QR Raj is free, with no watermark and no ads.

Where do I get my Google review link?

From your Google Business Profile: look for the option to get more reviews or share your review form, and copy the short link it shows.

Can I change where the code points after printing?

Yes, if you made it dynamic. You can update the link while the printed code stays the same.

Can I see how many people scan it?

Yes, with a dynamic code. You see total scans, unique scans and a 30-day graph. Scans are not the same as reviews, but they show whether people notice the code.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Offering anything in exchange for a review goes against Google’s policies and can get reviews removed.

Why does my QR code open the wrong page?

Check the link you pasted. Open it in a browser: it should show a review box for your business. If it does not, copy the link again from your Business Profile.
